Legend says a Naga prince once fell in love with a weaver, and to this day the motif carries the spirit of the river, and protection from harm, into every home it enters. It’s one of the most beloved motifs found in Laos’s weaving villages. In 2024, UNESCO recognized this craft as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
