After years of drought, the people of the Turkana region finally found a way to sustainably work the desert lake again. The Nile perch — enormous fish — have long been a food source, but no one knew what to do with the skins. Until Ira Ambani came along. She had the idea, learned the leatherworking craft herself, and founded Ambani Fish Leather together with her husband James. Today, the workshop employs around 20 people locally, giving them a real perspective. Every piece you buy goes straight back to that team.

This set comes in Black Gold — deep black leather with subtle gold flecks running through it. Cut and wrapped from Ambani’s newest collection, sewn entirely by hand. The grain and pattern of your pieces will always be one of a kind.
