Ikat is an ancient weaving technique found across many regions of the world. But the patterns are always different – and they always tell you exactly where a piece comes from. At SoRarePieces, we have gathered a collection of wonderfully light Ikat scarves for you, sourced directly from weavers in Thailand.

How is it made? The women tie and dye every single cotton thread before it ever reaches the loom, layer by layer, so that the finished cloth carries a soft blurring at every edge. That is the distinctive mark of Ikat. The signature of the hand.

Folded, our scarves read almost graphic. Draped, they become fluid and organic. Wear it loosely around your neck. Pull it over your shoulders on a cool evening. Take it on every trip. This cotton is warm, breathable and has a wonderful presence. Completely made by hand. For you.

“Sunrise” is different. The pattern is bolder, the colours carry more depth — warm brown and deep black in a combination that reads almost architectural. Ooai, who wears and tests every piece for us, said it simply: “I’d wear this to Loy Krathong or even to a wedding.” That says it all.
